Employees can often feel like they have nowhere to discuss personal or work-related problems, potentially worsening their situation and leading to increased absences or even resignation. Giving your workforce access to a local independent specialist EAP provider, where they can discuss any issues troubling them in a confidential environment, demonstrates that they are valued as an individual and part of an organisation that looks after employee welfare.
We believe that prevention not only makes economic sense for a company but by providing employees with a comprehensive health and wellbeing support package, employees feel they have a safety net for when things are not going so well. Research shows that if a person is feeling fulfilled and happy in their work, they are more equipped to work as a part of team. Good mental health can boost motivation to give of their very best and can increase the desire to reach their own potential and the goals of the company.
We are proud to dedicate ourselves to providing the highest standard of bespoke employee wellbeing assisted programmes in Plymouth. Unlike national EAP’s Concordia EAP is a local company that works solely with small, medium and large regional businesses in Plymouth. Our central goal has always been to serve the Plymouth business community by helping them provide a healthy working environment for their employees.
I first met Cathy in my place of work where she was taking a group supervision session for the company’s mental health first aiders including myself. At this time, I believed myself to be in a good head space.
Approximately 2 months later my marriage broke down as my wife had had enough of my ways at which I was unaware of until told. On pretty much instant reflection I knew the problems we had were down to my thought processes towards everyday life. In a desperate state at this point I wanted someone to help me fast, and Cathy came straight to mind.
My first impression of Cathy was everything I wanted in a counsellor, so understanding, so calming, she just makes you feel like she is someone you have known and trusted for many years.
I had many issues, routed right back to my childhood and through-out my life, How Cathy helped me identify them so effortlessly left me amazed and comforted. I saw Cathy for around 18 months ranging from once a week to once a month.
My whole life has changed, every person I know are shocked at how I have changed my outlook on life, I am so positive now. its’s a process I have to work on but if it wasn’t for me taking the first step and Cathy guiding me I would have gone through my life upsetting others and ultimately myself.
I now have a passion towards helping others and promoting good mental health. I have many daily habits to help me maintain my positive headspace. I credit my mental freedom to Cathy and myself.
I often have people approach me now to help them which I feel I now can, and if I can’t always pass on Cathy’s details. She is great and I couldn’t recommend her enough.
Thank you, Cathy.
